The birth of Killian
Diary Entry, 1372 Dale Reckoning
I was born on the 25th day of February, in the year of the lord 2006.
Of course, technically speaking, that's the day I was rolled up. My actual Faerun birth was probably around 1355 Dale Reckoning.
I was born in the Dragon Coast region, son of the innkeeper of the Giant’s Folly, in the village of Reddansyr.
My father was a prosperous merchant from Starmantle, before buying the inn from the previous owner when he retired. He quickly flourished in his new role, and became an important member of the community. A reputation for fairness has earned him the role of village magistrate, for as long as I can remember.
I spent my days helping my father run the inn as best I could, mainly engaging in tasks that required a strong arm and back, and a knack for shaping or crafting iron and steel. Lately, however, I have felt the need to go out and see more of the world, after hearing the countless tales of travellers and adventurers, as they huddled in the warm glow and shelter provided by my father’s inn and hearth.
Killian Gryphonhawk, son of Ian Gryphonhawk, 17 years of age (as of 1372 Dale Reckoning)
Lawful Neutral Human
Level 1 Fighter
Language(s) spoken: Chondathan
Deity: Lathander the Morninglord
In terms of vital statistics, I was born pretty average, some might even say below average.
STR: 14
DEX: 11
CON: 10
INT: 10
WIS: 12
CHA: 8
My strength is well-developed from hours at the forge, although I'm somewhat of a loner, and don't get along well with others. Growing up in a region where coin is king, and wheeling and dealing is part of daily life, I've developed a certain pragmatic wisdom.
Skills:
Climb 4
Craft (Blacksmith) 2
Intimidate 2
Jump 2
Swim 2
Feats:
Thug (+2 Initiative, +2 Appraise, +2 Intimidate)
Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Spiked Chain
Weapon Focus: Spiked Chain
Starting gold: 230 gp (My father was quite understanding and provided well)
